Второй месяц лета оказался в Бузулукском бору почти втрое суше, чем первый. В июле метеостанция в Боровом лесничестве зафиксировала лишь 41 миллиметр осадков – против 133 июньских. Средняя температура месяца достигла 22,6 градуса, с учётом этого годовая составила уже 5,9 градуса – при норме всего в 5. В середине лета подросшее новое поколение лисят начинает активно изучать окружающий мир. Один такой отважный исследователь попался нашим госинспекторам Отважный – потому, что присутствие сторонних наблюдателей, хотя и очень деликатных и держащихся на расстоянии, не отвлекло его от основной цели. Оренбуржье в эти дни – самый жаркий регион России. На юге области, в Акбулаке, столбики термометров пробили 40-градусную отметку. Больше 500 километров по реке Самара и озёрам Бузулукского бора преодолели с начала года наши госинспекторы, патрулируя территорию национального парка. Искали несанкционированные стоянки – и нашли три, проверяли, есть ли разрешения на посещение у байдарочников. Неясыть – особа скрытная. Но установленная на одной из вышек камера вывела её из сумрака, и мы можем довольно чётко рассмотреть эту обитательницу Бузулукского бора. Гаджет её явно заинтересовал, потому что ночная хищница довольно долго его разглядывала, вертя головой. Кстати, повернуть её птица может почти на полный оборот – и при этом шею себе не свернёт. Хочешь, чтобы тебя не трогали, – выгляди как грозное существо! Это нехитрое правило маскировки отлично усвоила тополёвая стеклянница – живущая в Бузулукском бору бабочка, которую можно легко спутать с шершнем. Для человека стеклянница опасности не представляет, а вот для тополей она настоящий кошмар. Яйца эта бабочка откладывает в трещинах коры, а гусеницы затем проникают под неё и прогрызают там ходы, вредя дереву.…

Нет, это не вишня, а жимолость татарская. Встретить её можно не только в Бузулукском бору, но и в Сибири, на Алтае и даже в предгорьях Тянь-Шаня. Одно из преимуществ этого кустарника – его невероятная неприхотливость. Жимолость татарская не очень требовательна к качеству почвы и быстро растёт – даже в городском загазованном воздухе.
