تعتقد الإمارات أنها ستورط السعودية في حرب استنزاف طويلة في جنوب اليمن عبر استمرار دعمها المالي السخي للمجلس الانتقالي وقواته، وهي تدرك أنه لا يمكن محاصرة كل الساحل اليمني الطويل ويمكن إيصال الأسلحة التي يحتاجوها. لا تدرك أبوظبي مخاطر هذه المغامرة، فالسعودية والعالم يدرك أن لا قدرة للانتقالي على معركة استنزاف لأكثر من أسبوع دون دعم إماراتي، وبعد الأسبوع ستنظر الرياض والعالم وباقي دول الخليج والدول العربية والإسلامي…
