I've thought about this all week, and I wanted to end this week by discussing probably my most favorite verse in the Bible.
"So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said t…

"Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves."
Philippians 2:3 ESV
So we all have to deal with pride, lust, and entitlement to some degree. Some more in one area than others. But to be able to deal with the weak areas of our life, we need to be able to name them. For me, it's mostly pride. But keep in mind, we are only as strong as we are honest.…

Did you know you have a gift to share? You do. Whether you're aware of it or not, you've got one.
Sometimes these gifts are internal knowledge or a skill you share. Many times it's as simple as sharing a gift God has blessed you with. Maybe it's a ride for a friend when their car is broken down. Maybe it's just an ear to listen.
My point is, we all have gifts we can share. Many years ago, someone told me, r…

Grinding it out and persevering builds character. Plain and simple.
Something about endurance has the incredible capacity to refine you. I guess it's kind of like a fire for silver, removing impurities and strengthening character. Often, because endurance goes hand in hand with trials, and trials can burn.
One of the amazing results of persevering to the end is Christ-like character. It makes you a better pe…

How fast do you bounce back after a loss?
One of the great tragedies for modern-day Christians is that we are losing our ability to rebound, to find the grit and determination to come back from defeat. Yeah, we may suffer some setbacks, but we should never be defeated. If we lose faith in the fact that God's love is perfect and His wisdom is infallible, and neither can be improved upon, we will never be able…

I want to end this week talking about some of the things that, in many ways, separate us from our relationship with God. The pursuit of "more" is definitely one of those things.
"He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity."
Ecclesiastes 5:10 ESV
For many believers, what's keeping us from a close relationship with God is not a lack of de…

So Tuesday was Treatment Tuesday, and it was my 68th round of a drug I've been on for a few years now. What's crazy is, while I know it's working currently, I'm always a little afraid that this could be the week it stops. Some weeks are a little more paralyzing than others, but it's the same fear.
I'm sure I'm like the rest of us when I say I'm bad about fear and worry. No matter how much I KNOW my life is …

A few years ago I purchased a new study Bible. I think I've mentioned it before, but I can't really remember. Anyhow, something struck me as I was messing around with it, reading different books in the Bible.
Read the instructions.
I'm like you. I often wish life had an instruction manual. Well, actually, God has given us one. It's called the Bible. It's our guide and source as we follow Jesus.
Many peopl…

I love sports. I love it even more when players are asked about fear and how it relates to achieving victory, and they respond, "I play to glorify God, and because of that, I don't fear anything."
"For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
2 Timothy 1:7
Hearing that you should be strong and courageous is a lofty notion. A nice thing to hear. But this verse steps things u…

Showing the 12 most recent of 20 posts we hold for @madetoconquer. View and reaction counts are the latest single reading for each post, not a live figure, and a recent post is still accumulating both. A view count marked ≈ was rounded by Telegram before we ever saw it — t.me prints views in full below 1,000 and to three significant figures above, so ≈1,200,000 means somewhere between 1,150,000 and 1,249,999. Unmarked counts are exact. Text is reproduced from the public post preview and truncated for length.
