جاء في كتاب التبيان في آداب حملة القرآن للإمام أبي زكريا النووي (رحمه الله): في باب آداب حامل القرآن، حيث نقل أثرًا عن إبراهيم بن سعد قال: «كان أبي يحتبي فما يحل حبوته حتى يختم القرآن» (وفي روايات أخرى: «لا يحل حبوته»). الحبوة: هي أن يجلس الرجل ويضم ركبتيه إلى بطنه ويشدّهما بثوب أو عمامة أو يديه حول ساقيه، وهي جلسة تُستعمل للثبات والاستقرار الطويل عند العبادة أو القراءة.
