По опросам ~40% американцев не имеют наличных средств, чтобы покрыть внезапные расходы в размере $1,000. В это же время мы смогли внести первоначальный взнос за машину. И это после всего 6 мес с момента, как я выстроил автоматическую систему сбережений и инвестиций, которой мы строго придерживаемся всё это время. Горжусь! Жалею только о том, что не сделал этого 10 лет назад. Как по мне, этому должны в школе учить.

Забавно наблюдать, как в Чикаго относятся к холодам. Завтра будет -20 C. Для местных это «below zero» (-4 F). На работе сказали, что по соображениям безопасности в офис лучше не идти и поработать из дома. Дома говорят, чтобы обязательно держали окна закрытыми, а то трубы замерзнут и лопнут (нахера их было у окна прокладывать?). Владеть машиной не выгодно (или нет?) На скиншоте основные расходы с машиной и без (не все). Те, что без, посчитаны на основе реальных цифр наших расходов за 2025 год. Не смотря на некоторую экономию и остаточную стоимость авто, все равно владение оказывается дороже, пусть и не сильно в этом конкретном случае. Сейчас будет немного про экономику владения машиной. Будет особенно полезно, если вы думаете, где жить, и насколько нужна машина. Не самый очевидный плюс: теперь мы можем ездить за продуктами. Живя в даунтауне, мы тратим в районе $1100/мес на продукты. В основном это Mariano’s и Whole Foods. Не потому что мы - мажоры, просто это единственные два магазина в пешей доступности.
