وصل الحالُ في زماننا ببعض المولعين بعلوم المتأخرين أن يُقَرِّروا مذهب الإمام أحمد رحمه الله من كتب خارجة عن المنهج والمذهب، مع أن الروايات المنصوصة عنه موجودةٌ محفوظةٌ في ذات المسألة. فتجد أحدهم يترك مسائل أحمد، وكتب الروايات، وكتب المذهب المعتمدة، ثم يذهب ليُعيِّن "المعتمد" من مصادر كلامية شافعية متأخرة جداً، أو كتب أهل الرأي أو كتب أصولية كلامية متأخرة.
