قدمت جوجل ميزة الوضع السري ببريد Gmail في عام 2019.. وهي الميزة التي تسمح للمستخدمين بإرسال رسائل يمكن أن تنتهي صلاحيتها، و يمنع المستلمين من نسخ المحتويات أو إعادة توجيهها إلى الآخرين أو تنزيلها. هذه الميزة تحتاج إلى التفعيل في كل مرة ترسل فيها رسالة جديدة، وهي عبارة عن زر في القائمة السفلية بجانب زر الإرسال، و بالضغط عليه ستظهر صفحة الإعدادات الخاصة بالرسائل.
