One thing that really stood out when I listened back to the testimonials from the last training was how many women said they hadn't come to become doulas! 🤯 Some came because they wanted to understand birth or support women in general. Most birth workers are taught physiology (one would hope) some are taught how to navigate the system, law vs guidelines etc but fewer still are ever taught this, and this doesn’t become normalised, we will never truly understand birth trauma.

I genuinely wasn't planning to run another training this year. Then I sat down and listened back to the testimonials. What struck me was what they said about themselves. You cannot support women beyond the level your own nervous system is embodied. This applies in: Birth Parenting. Ladership. Relationships. Healing. And in life generally.... I don’t want to train everyone, I want to train the right women. There aren’t many women ready for this level of self inquiry. There aren’t many who will spend time looking at their own reactions and behaviour without blame or shame. Keri was ready, and she is going to be the doula a woman needs. No projection, dogma or idealism. What Keri has achieved in one week, most don’t get to in a life time.
