في هذا المعجم أمور مستنكرة كثيرة… عجيب في شواهده التي يوردها، عجيب في أمثلته التي يضعها من عنده. وما لي بالحديث طاقة، ولا بي إلى مجادلة شيعته نشاط… ولكني أمثل لك -بعد يومين أو ثلاثة إن شاء الله- بشيء مما تعجب منه مما في هذا المعجم، مما لا يكون إلا وهمًا أو تدليسًا.

- من تأمل فيما شاع في زماننا من الترجمات اللفظية والأساليب العرنجية مثل (الحرب الأهلية) و(مجتمع إنساني) و(بركان نشط) ونحوها، ومحَّص تراجم المتقدمين في زماننا عن الإنجليزية والفرنسية ونظر في وجوه ترجمتهم لهذه الأساليب، رآهم لا يستعملون هذه الترجمات الشائعة، ولا تخطر لهم على بال. ورأى أنَّ أكثر ما شاع من الترجمات اللفظية والأساليب العرنجية إنما شاعت بعد العشرة الرابعة أو الخامسة من القرن العشرين الميلاديِّ. فلو تأملت…
