الشيخ علي الهاشمي تربى بحضن السيد عبد الأمير الحسيني عندما كان عمر الشيخ 4 سنوات منذ عام 1994 إلى عام 2003 وكان معتنيا به بشدة حتى أطلق عليه لقب "الشيخ" لكثرة لبس الشيخ الهاشمي للشماغ والعقال منذ صغر سنه فاصبح يعرف بـ الشيخ علي الهاشمي ليس معمم لكنه تربى ودرس في حوزة السيد عبد الأمير
السيد كاظم الهاشمي كان معيناً للسيد عبد الأمير الحسيني في حديث له: ﴿كان كاظم معين لي وناصري في كل عمل عملته ولم يتركني وقد ربيته على يدي عندما كان صغيرأ فتعلق بي وصار يحبني وبعد تقدمي بالعمر أصبحت غير قادر على فعل بعض الأمور فكان كاظم بن محمد أول المساعدين لي وعندما رجع كاظم من الجيش ببدلته العسكرية استقبلته حينها وقرارات الفرقة الهاشمية كانت بيدي فعينته عليها قائد عسكر الكوفة﴾
قتل آية اللّٰه العظمى السيد عبد الأمير الحسيني قدس سره الشريف في يوم التاسع والعشرين من رمضان عام 1446هـ غدرآ برصاصة وهو نائم في بيته وقد أتت الرصاصة في دماغه أدت إلى استشهاده الأليم وكان عمره عند مقتله 88 عاماً ولن يكتفوا بهذا بل حاولوا حفر قبره وحرق جسده الشريف ولكن الآن الفرقة الهاشمية وهي ابنة السيد الحسيني تحمي مرقده من كل الجهات وتواصل في اكمال البناء لكي يفتتح أمام الزائرين من جميع الأنحاء
