#IRCCTrending As announced on 15th November 2024, International students changing schools in Canada🇨🇦 must apply and be approved for a NEW study permit. Failure to do so only means the violation of the regulations guiding the Canadian study permit and could impact the eligibility for the Postgraduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Canada🇨🇦🇨🇦 has ended the Student Direct Stream (SDS) and Nigeria Student Express (NSE), which was aimed at faster processing time and applying with fewer documents. As it is, all applications, no matter the country, will now be assessed under the standard study permit application process.

Do you know that you can leave and re-enter Canada🇨🇦 after applying to extend your study permit?! Nonetheless, what to also watch out for is ensuring that your temporary resident visa is valid. Granting entrance back into Canada without a valid visa but with an ongoing study permit extension application is at the sole discretion of the CBSA officer.
