ما العيدُ إلَّا رَبيعٌ، أنتِ زَهرَتُهُ وأنتِ فيهِ النَّسيمُ، النَّهرُ، والشَّجَرُ ما العيدُ إلَّا سَماءٌ، أنتِ نَجمَتُها وأنتِ فيهِ الهِلالُ، الغُيومُ، والمَطَرُ .
لقد كنتُ جَلْداً قبْلَ أَنْ تُوقِدَ النَّوَى على كبدي ناراً بطيئاً خُمودُها ولو تُرِكَتْ نارُ الهَوى لَتَضرَّمَتْ ولكنَّ شَوْقاً كلَّ يومٍ يَزِيدُها فقدْ جَعَلتْ في حَبَّةِ القَلْبِ والحَشا عِهادُ الهَوى تُولَى بِشَوْقٍ يُعِيدُها وقد كنتُ أَرْجُو أنْ تموتَ صَبابَتي إذا قَدُمَتْ أيَّامُها وعُهودُها .
إِنّي لَآمُلُ مِنكَ خَيراً عاجِلاً وَالنَفسُ مولَعَةٌ بِحُبِّ العاجِلِ .
إذا جبرَ الرَّحمنُ بالُّلطفِ خاطرًا سينسَى ليالٍ باتَ فيها مُحَطَّما .
يا طريقيَ الذي حفرتُهُ بِقلبي يا قلبيَ الذي ربيتُهُ على الصّبرِ يا صبريَ الذي خدَشتُ بهِ وجهَ البُؤسِ في دَربِي: كُن أيوبيًّا، لا تَنفَد .
لُغتي وأفخرُ إذْ بُليتُ بحبِّها فهي الجمالُ وفصلُهَا التبيانُ عربيةٌ لا شكَّ أنَّ بيانَهَا متبسمٌ في ثغرِهِ القرآنُ .
إني أطيلُ حَدِيثنا إذا يبتدي وأنا بِطَبعي لا أطيلُ كلامي أستنطق المعنى بآخَرَ بعدَه وأزيد كي أروي ظمأ أيامي فلتقبلي عُذراً لمن في جوفِه قلبٌ يُقَلَّبُ هائماً كهُيامي خير الكلام أقله في مذهبي إلا حديثُكِ ، ملجئي وسلامي .
